Alreet Chaps.

As always everything has happened at once, my NICEIC inspection date has finally come through after being messed around for months and then my MFT has blown up. My spare MFT has no calibration cert so i have bitten the bullet and been and purchased a new MFT..

A Metrel MI 3125 BT...

I have fully charged and fired it up for a night of manual reading and playing with it.... installed the software AND i am fairly baffled, does anybody on here use it? Or does anyone use the MI3125 OR make use of the Android app facility?

I haven't even found how to switch the bleeding bluetooth it apparently has built in on yet!

Any help is much appreciated.

I've got a Metrel with the ability to transfer results BUT to be honest, unless you are really organised and your tests go exactly to plan I fail to see how this would beat using a paper cert and updating your PC later!

Agreed!

After being boggled for about an hour i decided to procrastinate for yet another hour searching the internet for some advice and still got no where.

So i have just built a 'structure' which i assume is an installation, i quite like the way you can drag and drop but i was heartily let down when i realised i have to add a circuit THEN add and name each test i am about to do!!!

If i only did new builds etc where i was installing basically the same circuits on every job then maybe. But this is a right arse about face way of doing it! Bit annoyed because i shelled out for this model because of the bluetooth... doh!

Does the memory feature work with any other applications?

Up to date all my testing has been with my old metrel combo lite. I usually write down the results or enter them directly in to my laptop on site. I was using a piece of old software which to be honest is quite substandard and i have been fortunate enough to get a testing contract (only small, 6 commercial properties). So i was hoping to be able to use the tester in conjunction with my smart phone or laptop to save time.

Quite horrified at the price of tysoft and AMTECH although AMTECH seems the most attractive so far, i need to start making some money rather than shelling out on screwdrivers schemes screwdrivers testers screwdrivers drills etc!

Thanks for the reply anyway Murdoch!

Cheers for the recommendation. I have had a thorough read of the website and i am just downloading the trial. The software looks ideal to be honest and i can just about cope shelling out £75 a year, it's a shame it doesn't have any tablet/smart phone compatibility however my laptop battery is pretty awesome so its not a big deal.

Cheers Murdoch
