MFT1552 fault?

Hi all,

I was wondering if anybody has come across this fault before that I seem to be getting with my Megger MFT1552.

When I measure the voltage it reads around 260V (iv tried it in a few different properties). Then if I switch it to the RCD auto test or any of the RCD individual tests it bumps up to over 300v, flashes and doesn't let me continue. When I swotch off the socket/supply it does go do to 0 so its not registerong a voltage when there isn't one it just seems to be registering the voltages really high

I really don't want to have to call it a day with the MFT as its a great bit of kit albeit an oldey so was just wondering if anyone has come across this before?

Send the MFT away to Megger and ask them to check operation and a costing of any repairs that they uncover, if it's BER then time for a new one.

The 1500 series are no longer supported by Megger so it will need to be a private repair.

try The Calibration Centre at Stafford. They provide an excellent repair service at reasonable cost.

An oldey but a goody! Same model as I use
I second calibration centre in Stafford I use them for calibration, excellent service

So just an update... and I fear I may be required to hand in my electricians card as well as my man card here.... what i thought were new batteries were dead... changed the batteries and its showing correct voltage..... i mean there are no words!!!!!!
