Microwave vs PIR sensor for light

Need to install a security light for a customer. He has chosen a 4000 lumens led light without a sensor.
He wants the sensor to cover the majority of the rear garden as he has had issues with things going missing.
To prevent tampering he wants it mounted above the flat roof extension on the house wall. The flat roof extends out approximately 4 metres and the garden is 12 metres long from the extension wall. Height is just under 2.5 metres.
I initially thought pir but given distances involved and the need with most to adjust with seasons and light hours etc to keep light working, I am now leaning to microwave sensor to cover the garden. Less need to adjust, usually greater accuracy. Only concern is range.
Any thoughts or recomendations on makes/types.
Have fitted a couple on commercial jobs but not in domestic setting.

Any pir sensor will do .just replaced a new one on my house with 3x 30 watt led light fittings .try tool station.

Steinel pirs seem pretty much the best ones ive used...
Most will do 12m in a straight line

The best led fittings with microwave sensors I have used are Brackenheath. They do cover a greater area than pir’s. I don’t know if they can be obtained as stand alone units.

If in doubt, you could just install a secondary slave PIR.

That way both ends of the garden are reliably covered.

CP products do a microwave sensor that is really sensitive and covers 30m x 6m and can be bracket mounted. They have a lux sensor as well and are programmable with the remote they do. Might be an issue with random switching on?
