Hi all I`m new here,.. ( I do more reading than posting) but have registered for some advice on MK gridswitches..

I doing a refurb of a pub, in the main entrance hall there is 2 banks of MK gritches. One is an old type 24gang and one is a modern MK logic 18way. What I plan to do is replace the old style grid/ Plates and switches with modern Logic+ switches so the 2 of them match.

Does anyone know if the new grid/ plates will fit onto the old MK back box ? As I`m sure you can understand there will be a lot less work for me if I can get away with not having to replace the back box ;-)

Back boxes should be standard.

Pretty sure it will, however that aside I hate MK grid switches, I would go for a different make myself, and any make should fit the back box.

Thanks for the replies,.. Thought myself they should fit, was just concerned the cover plate may be smaller than than the back box or something.

I have to keep it MK MJD otherwise I`d have to start replacing the 18 gang too ;)

I have another problem... with a Megger 1730 I got recently so may as well start a new thread seeing as I`m a member now :)

surface plates are much larger than recessed back boxes, surface boxes are however usually the same size as the plate, and it is MDJ lol, welcome to the forum :smug:
