Awful things had two ring final faults a while back, high continuity readings. Two circuits had been extended using these connectors and both circuit faults were caused by them.

It's strange that. They should be a good product. Did you contact the manf?
 
Assuming the existing socket is part of a RFC, as the OP implies, and is not already a spur off of a RFC, the new socket can be a simple spur from the existing socket.
No Wagos or crimps required.

I think he might want to actually get rid of the existing one.
 
Getting rid of the old one yeah. Want it plastered over and gone. Got my crimper at the ready
If your getting rid of the old socket and plastering over it that means removing the cables as well.

you can’t just join a new cable in the wall were the old socket was and run to new location.

you will then need to run new cables within proscribed zones for the location of the new socket not the old.

If as mentioned at the start, the cables for the socket are coming in from the side and not above and the socket is to ‘move’ to the right 30 or so cm, then the cables will still be in the safe zone, so is there any issue with through crimping, heat shrinking and putting in a bit of capping before plastering over

If they are Run horizontally from the left. Fine. If they are run horizontally from the right. Even better.

if one in from left and one in from right. Fine.

if one from right and another down or up. Not Fine.

most sockets are fed to top or bottom.

until you know this you won’t know if it can or cannot be done.
