Hi Guys and Girls
Fairly new to the trade trying to level sockets in a finished apartment but the back boxes have been fixed using a spit gun. Do I have to remove the spits to make the sockets level. Just don't want to make a mess ??

If you've got a multitool you could attempt to cut the heads off of the nails and move the backboxes ,I've knocked them off with a decent sharp cold chisel in the past but thats a bit more brutal and may cause a bit of damage to the surrounding plaster .

Yeah there gal nails I just want to avoid making a mess as the apartment has been painted and the cabinets have been put in

left it too late to 2nd fix

If the boxes are so far out of level that you can't get the plates level using the adjustable lug then unfortunately it's too late, you can't move the boxes without chopping the plaster out around them.

Your only hope may be to try and 'persuade' the sockets slightly once they are fitted to bend the screws a little bit, but that will make it a sod for the next person along.

It’s these tilers... they come along with their perfectly level ceramics and show that the sockets are a wee bitty off.

who used a spit gun on the first fix anyway?
They should have checked the levels at the time
