Just an observation.

Staircase serving 5 storeys….. how to turn on the light from any floor?

See saw type rocker switch set into the ceiling and two really long bits of rope.

I thought it was a pulley system for the servants of old to take heavy objects up to the guest bedrooms…. So I pulled a rope, and the light came on.



And yes…. I know it can be done with quinetic nowadays.

It's a wonder health and safety doesn't see it as a concern

Nah I would have that set up on time lag switch all parrelled up, just keep pushing the button on each floor lol

I think it is fantastic,
if it ever goes wrong then it needs to be replaced with a good quality 2 way rocker switch so the original design is kept. (Even if rocker arms have to be custom manufactured)
it would be insulting to most engineers to replace that with disposable electronic rubbish .
