Contact forum sponsor, Test Meter, they have a handy comparison sheet and a discount for forum users.

Spend as much as you can - it'll pay you back.

Have Megger sort the negative resistance value yet on the new meters?

As with the old 1500 megger, if the leads are over nulled, it displays a minus figure, where the 1700s didn't

You will get plenty of honest advice from the members on the forum. Is there a specific brand that you are used to using at the moment?

Have a look at the multifunction tester chart which will compare various different makes and model of tester. Some testers are ideal for testing the odd domestic installation, whereby some models may offer features which will suit everyday commercial and industrial testing, too.

The best advice as always is to try your hand to a few different makes and models first. If this isn't an option there are plenty of videos online which will take you through step by step features for specific testers.

If you need any advice, call us on 01132 48 99 66, we're happy to help over the phone regardless of whether you purchase from us or not. If you do decide to make a purchase, we can offer you a 5% discount as a forum sponsor.

Good Luck!
