Hello, should be a simple question i think, my purpose is to elongate the running time of lets say a phone, it runs on 3.7v li.ion battery but it currently only gives it 5 hours running time max. my question is, is it possible to connect multiple 3.7v batteries together to achieve a longer running time. any problems with that if it is done.

thank you .

1) Use several batteries sequentially, as one becomes almost exhausted change to a fresh battery and recharge the original, 3 batteries would ensure you always have a fresh battery in reserve. Easiest system to implement.

2) Or parallel connect several batteries together, this is far from straight forward and would require individual battery protection to prevent damage and some form of specialist connector (from an old battery?) to the phone.
