Hi all... Again...,

In the kitchen I am installing a double over (its on order from B&Q and not sure of kW) along with a 4 plate ceramic hob (again unsure of the kW).

Is it common practice to install 2x cooker switches above the worktop and two cooker points side by side (perhaps in an accessory box?) below...?

Not seen that configuration before but to be perfectly honest it's not something I've ever looked for.

Thanks guys

generally, unless the appliances are super power, a single 6mm feed to a isolator down to a dual CCU will suffice up to a combined rating for the 2 appliances up to 15kW. don't forget diversity. ( now that's opened a can. LOL ).

No, there was a Regulation in the 15th allowing a single switch to be used for two cookers, however the requirement to even install a cooker switch was removed altogether with the 16th.
Although, I believe the OSG still makes reference to it.
Only 22 years out of date.

As you don't know the ratings of the appliances you could be in trouble but familiarise yourself with :

Click MODE 45A Easyfit Dual Appliance Outlet Plate

and fit a single isolation switch above the worktop.

Fitting cooker isolation switches is good practice IMHO - especially useful when the nuisance RCD tripping starts.

but don't start till you have the ratings of the appliances.

Thanks all,

Ill wait until I have the appliances but I like to be prepared so I can collect the bits on my way home after the initial delivery.

Thanks again!

Your Hob maybe a standard plugin one not all are massive Power Junkies now hehe so u may only need a spur above and a socket below. (if your Lucky)
