My income is reducing - will the government pay me anything? (Self-employed or Employed)

Based on PAYE apparently so, although opinions seem varied and fact-checking isn't easy.

I believe if your employed then your company can apply for a scheme to pay 85% of salary but this is capped at £2500 a month. I look after a group of electricians on a large construction site and the general feel is we will close soon and then will get paid £2500 a month until it reopens. None of us are too sure regarding tax and NI contributions though so not 100% what take home will be.
As for self employed status I am not too sure but I would imagine you would have to prove earnings etc. There is apparently an allowance for self employed also

1. I've confirmation govt is on this right now. It aims to make further help announcement this week, once its watertight. So hold on.
2. Apply for Uni credit. Housing payments changes mean it may be bigger than you think, inc some circs £1500+/mth untaxed."
