You could do with a better colour scheme - black text on a white background is better. Consider investing in a header designed by a graphic designer. It’s not expensive and can make the site look a lot more professional. The .org wont matter in terms of search engine ranking and I doubt will make much difference to click through rates but a .co.uk or .com will look better on your van. If you’ve got a nicely sign written van then take a nice picture of it and maybe incorporate it into the header or somewhere on the page.

From a content point of view your site sucks (no offence!) and the search engines would rank you so far down someone would have to scroll through a million pages to find you! Content is king for the search engines, and the more frequently content can be updated the better (there are ways of doing this). If you’re not ranking on the first or second page for key search terms it aint worth bothering. The attention span of people searching for products or services on the internet is notoriously short. Ideally you want to be page 1 for key search terms and ideally within the top 3.. All entirely possible if you know what you’re doing. There is so much more you can be doing in terms of aesthetics, content and search engine stickiness. Sites need very careful thought and planning if you want to do it properly.. This needn’t be expensive you just need to know what you’re doing or know someone who does. You want your content to contain key words.. There’s absolutely no mention of the areas you cover on your main page but if I’m looking for an electrician right now ill go to google and type in electrician Harlow because that’s the area I live in… when google syndicates your page it will know what content and keywords you have. If you happened to be operating in my area and had worded your page and content with the keywords id searched for then you’re very likely to be high up the rankings provided you’ve got everything else right and when I say worded with keywords I don’t mean spamming - big difference here, one will improve your rankings the other is likely to get you penalised!

A million and one other things we can look at - have you got a USP? Why would I choose to give you my custom instead of one of the other 25 electricians in your area? This needs to be communicated to your customers. Have you got testimonials from satisfied customers? Or a guarantee which removes risk from doing business with you etc etc.

Well done for making the effort to set up a website. So many businesses still don’t have an internet presence and in this media age we live in ALL businesses small, medium and large should have a website. It’s the primary place people go to look for products, services and information. Without a website these people don’t even know you exist and if your competitor has a site and you don’t then he’s got a significant competitive advantage over you.

Good luck, hope this helps a little!

newsparkrob is reasonably right, but for niche stuff (geographic loacations) it is dead simple. You do not need graphic designers, you just need first page for your chosen keywords, no one gives a **** about your artistic design,

A .org is not a good idea, simply because if no other .orgs link to you you will struggle in the serps. A .org is educational, google ain't stupid. If you do not get eduacationl links you will suffer, except if you are in a very niche area sometimes you can get by and sometimes do well.

I know the above poster has said it don't matter, but he is mistaken...unless you can get links from .edu sites you will struggle, simply because of the domain extension.

I'm not saying you cannot rise in the serps but without good quality on topic links fron .edu or other high ranking .org sites you will not have snowballs chance in hell.

Now if you had gone, .co.uk or even .com you may have been able to compete so long as you had good content and plenty of it, links then can come from anywhere, though again good quality links counts for a lot

If the poster I mention is indeed right (pleas show me a .org) that ranks first page in google for
electrician (any major city)

Hi,
I recently completed my site, and trying to think of what to write is a nightmare. Good start though.
Hope I not being too picky, but the first thing I was drawn to was the plug with sparks coming out of it, and thought of how dangerous it looked. Tell me to 'flip-off' if I'm over analysing. ;)

Im not being picky mate, but the contact us page, at the bottom it says ''website copyWritE'' delete the W and E and add a G and H... ''Copyright''

Apart from that, change the colour from black and your on your way...

Color scheme is good. I would change serif font as it does not display well & is hard to read. I don’t like to see serif and non serif next to each other, it looks wrong. The picture is a bit disturbing for an electrician, indicating a major fault at the plug.
‘’No job too big or small’’; sounds naff.
‘’Anything else just ask!’’ ??? Do they put up fences or wash windows ?

Otherwise good.
