I think he meant for what reason have you joined up mate ?......
Ohh yeah I see. I work for a company and I would like to certify and sign off my own work. I'm being asked all the time for prices for rewires, board changes, ECRs etc etc. I just want to make sure I'm crossing the t's and dotting the i's.

I have in the past asked my company to adopt the install and provide me with a cert, but I can't keep doing it and I hate asking for favours.

Proof of qualifications
Proof of insurance, public liability probably £2m, if doing EICR's then indemnity insurance
Current calibration certificate's for test instruments
Risk assessments
Safe working methods
A couple of jobs to take assessor to see (if still doing that with Covid19 around)
Questions tend to be fairly run of the mill stuff (max zs for circuits, Holes in joists, type of supply, you can refer to BS7671 if unsure on any question
Oversee you doing a bit of testing (make sure you get the safe isolation procedure correct)
In my book they like to see all the Bull_____ paperwork is in order
That's a kick start anyhow, I'm sure others will add to it !

just remember they are not coming to trip you up , everything is basic stuff all sparkles should know...

make Sure you have a lock off kit , proving unit , man at work sign etc all the stuff you sling in a box and get out once a year :)

Give them a call, they’ll have a chat with you about your qualifications and experience etc... then send you an email through (once initial payment’s cleared?), that has links on their site for what documentation etc... you need; and gives you all the info about assessment.

On site assessment is currently a 6 / 8 week wait due to Covid.
