Does anyone know what this is/been on it for what I have been told it is not a C & G course but is for those who haven't so they can become members?

You can do the City and guilds NA7232 it’s about £350 which enables you to Register with there CPS much cheaper than the link posted for the blue flame

Distance learning so you need to be competent to even think about doing this

It’s 3 online multiple choice exams on the first day covering EAWR,BS7671,safe isolation, initial I and T ,EICR etc....

2nd day is a 3phase condition report, single phase new installation inspection/testing and a minor works cert after a alteration,

Hope this helps

I did this. Its similar to the 2394 in the testing and inspection. The test is open book and if you read the questions its easy.
They will ask you to find a number of faults and test s 3 phase board and sub board. You will be required to fill in an EICR form

If you dont have have the nvq3 or level 3 testing such as 2394/95 or either 2391. then niceic/elecsa let you sit a online knowledge assessment which is free, well sort of .. as it is included in the first years fees. This they accept instead of the higher qualifications and as long as you have the 17th edition, and at least the 2392 testing with all the paperwork and books they list then you are in.
I know somebody who did it quite recently (August) after going down the Electrical Trainee route, which i know is controversial, but it was part of his forces resettlement package after spending 9 years in REME in the army. the Online knowledge assessment is open book at home with all your osg, byb, gn3 etc.. think its around 50 questions split like the NA7232 course above into initial and periodic testing questions, safe isolation, max values on different circuits/breakers. basically the sort of stuff you should know.. but since you have your books and its multi choice you really would have to be a bit daft to fail!
just remember though, they want your money, so don't make it too hard!
