Nema 14-50 installation - is this done correctly?

Hi everyone. Recently purchased a tesla model y. I wanted to install a nema 14-50 . After watching YouTube i figured it seemed to be an easy task. I'm wondering if it's installed safely and up to code?

I will describe the steps
Chose a box and attached an 90 degree 1 inch elbow with EMT connector on each end.
Decided to enter secondary panel through upper left side. Punched out 1 inch hole and drilled a pilot hole out as there is a stud there. Drilled 2 inch hole from the outside though pilot hole.
Connected the wires to nema - 2 black 6g wires, 1 white 6 g wire and 10g ground. Gave the wires a little bend with needle nose to make sure they dont have tension when inserted into the conduit coming out of box. Pushed the wires in all the way in the box and then inserted the wires into the 2 inch hole and into panel (panel was turned off). Secured the EMT to panel and secured the box to wall. Then bent the wires down and around to the connections, 2 blacks to 50 amp double pole circuit breaker and white and ground to the matching strips. Secured the nema connector to the front cover and then to the box. The utilitech nema connector has a mechanism in place that connects the ground wire to the front metal plate of the connector so that automatically ground to faceplate and box.

I think technically speaking I need a GFI protected 50 amp circuit breaker in california but I am not sure and not sure if it is needed in my garage with this very short run of wires.
