Hi everyone.
Took short courses in 2381, 2391, PAT testing and various EMTA NVQ2 in late 2005, got a job for a contracting company, and then decided to go it alone Oct 07.
Have not yet registered with a competent persons scheme, just pay up to notify LA if required for the job. Previous career completely different (financial services) but hoping to grow business over time.
Has its ups and downs running your own business, but don't know now if I could work for anyone else ever again.
Anyone out there in the same position, with views, comments experience of similar.
Cheers
Trev

Cheers Lenny.
Also, anyone not registered out there feeling like a second class citizen? I believe I do a good job, certificate work etc, tidy, prompt, notify where required etc etc., but get cheesed off with the letters in Professional Electrician sugesting that if you haven't paid up to register with NIC, ECA or whatever, you're clearly rubbish and a cowboy. Not happy with that attitude from within the industry. I must say I've seen work by registered firms that I wouldn't be happy to sign off.
Give us a chance please.
