Hi All,
I am an Electrical & Electronics Engineer worked in the Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunication & IT industry for last 35 years. Now I am preparing to move into design, Implement and test domestic electrical installations specifically want to specialise in home automation/smart home areas. I am currently in the process to register under the competent person scheme as an electrician. I am looking for to receive advice and guidance from the forum.

first, enquire from one of the CPS scams ( niceic,elecsa,napit,stroma) as to what you need, qualifications. insurances, complaints procedure, regs books, etc., etc. then make sure everything is in place before parting with your megabucks subs. then you will need a couple of jobs for inspection, one of which must be a new circuit or some other majjor job like a CU change, all certs. ready for the inspector. as a minimum qual, you'll need the 2382 (wiring regs.) qual. and be able to demonstrate testing.
