im new to the forum.
Just to say hi.
I'm a spark trained late, started college at night for 3 years at 27 and did my nvq 3 at 30. Did few years with a couple firms including Mitie on some big projects to get plenty of experience before going self employed 12 years ago and developing a small business with a partner over last couple of years with 6 of us at the moment. Still find I'm learning bits all the time.
Sorry for waffling on.
Dave

Welcome dude,i like "contractir"....sounds authentic,if said with the same accent as when telling the customer " temorros nort touched yet,my lurver!...";)

peg, is that Swahili.

It is the most common phrase, uttered by a tradesman, down Penzance.
Indeed,my recently departed Mother in Law,had this as an answer from a roofer, who she met in Carbis Bay,10 months after asking him for a quote for a repair.

It is the same methodology, applied to "the new boy" term, used to describe a fella who only moved local, thirty years ago...;)

Cheers everyone.
At wholesalers for 7 sorting gear for day and apprentice is already causing troubles by not coming in.
Some times I do think is it really worth all the grieve, at least it's Friday.

Send him on a beam-trawl 5 day shift with Stevenson's at Newlyn...he'll be pleading to get under them damp sub-floors :)

Welcome to the forum Pasty, mmmmh is it lunchtime yet?
Sounds like you've worked hard to make the set up you have there, good for you. Get involved as much as you can.

Thank you everyone. Here's to quiet weekend and hopefully no call outs.
Looking forward to a more organised week next week, we'll until Monday morning and any unexpected calls from any customer needing something done quickly and the following knock on effect. The joys of contracting.
