Hi everyone,

Im new to the forum today. Although not an actual electrician I have joined because thats what I want to be!

I live in Essex although originally from Derby I have an interest in getting into electronics as supposed to electrian eventually. Im here for some help and courses, apprenticeships etc.

anyway...

Hi Humey
Firstly i would advise that if its electronics your pref is get down you local tech collage and get some advice. I spent 20yrs as an electronics engineer worked for government systems then space/aviation it will take 5yrs before you get anywhere but this also depends on what area of electronics you want to work i would advise get into an electronics company as an assembler/solderer then do the btec onc to start this way you can upgrade to technician then obtain the hnd/hnc and upgrade to bench engineer if this suits then you can gain exp and go on to specialise in an area of your choice.
Hope this helps
Regards
Tony.

thanks.

Im looking at colleges as we speak. thanks for your advice. What I would like to do eventually is be and animatronics artist. suppose im in the perfect location (london) to get in to this. Just quite depressing all this searching mullarky.

as im young(ish) im unware abou the current situation regarding apprenticeships. Has the government put a stop to them??
