Couldn't beat them so guess I better join them. Fed up with insurance companies etc say NAPIT who ????? NICEIC have sewn things up well so transfer imminent. Also think NAPIT have damaged themselves with the B & Q tech support dept

NAPIT are bellends, assessing there members every 3years or whatever it is. When Elecsa and the NIC are yearly, surely should be the same for everyone.

I know the Electrical Safety Register is aload of tosh, but theres a reason the ECA, NICEIC and Elecsa haven't allowed NAPIT to join, and thats because they are the worst.

Although the NIC and co. aren't exactly saints either.

Picking between the NIC and Napit is basically picking between a polished turd and a normal turd. They're both still turds.

This has turned into a "my scheme is better than the other" thread

However, they are all a lot less than what we like to imagine

I suspect each scheme now uses the risk based assessment procedure that the government encouraged

Napit members could hit back and Nic bash by stating,eg

If they have so many members who still require annual assessments, maybe they ought to register less builders and kitchen fitters to do an electricians job, then like Napit electricians, they may be in a position to apply the risk based assessment more numerously, then have less members needing annual assessments :53:

But of course that would playing --- for tat, and into the hands of these bodies that are wrecking our industry :sifone:

In respect of these Part Pee scheme providers, i think You're the Bell Ends for allowing these parasites to position themselves to be able to dictate anything within our industry!! All they are interested in at the end of the day is market positions, which as always, eventually comes back to how much profit they can make out of you fools!!

When i had a nosy around there hq i was under the impression you have yearly assesements then proper test every three to five years or so

Feel free to correct me if im wrong
oh I don't know tbh, we have annual MCS assessments as well, so maybe you're right and we're due some form of proper test at some point on the electrical side. I just try to get them over with as painlessly as possible so we can get on with some real work again.

Doubts about the Part P scam....

Hello all, I may be getting old and grouchy but something has just occurred to me. Seems I have just paid the thick end of £500 for my yearly 'surveillance ' visit from Elecsa and don't appear to have ever had any idea of exactly who it was that ever became able to charge me money for doing my job?!... When did paying to engage in a trade that I have qualified to do ever become right? My question is do any of you think that group refusal to doth ones cap to this rubbish might be overdue? I would love to know if any good sparks are trading without this CPT thing and how it affects you?

Correct, anyone that has obtained the appropriate qualifications should never have been subject to this form of daylight robbery. And, ....anyone that doesn't have them, should never have been officially allowed to practice the trade in the first place, ...End Of!!
