I'm surprised no-one has come on to the forum telling us how many thousands of £££ they will be making this year!! lol!!
I can remember last year i think it was, when one guy was insisting his mate was going to make £13K for a week of being on call.

Any better takers for this year?? lol!!

I can beat that, I am charging 1 million pound for xmas day, because that is what it will cost anybody who wants my services on the day.

There was a waiting list to work safety cover at Rover, Longbridge over christmas, go in for 2 hours and get paid 4 hours at treble time! the routine was clock in, have a cup of tea, do a walkaround of the building, another cup of tea then clock out :D.

Where I work now has a 5 shift crew who are rostered on as part of their normal shift pattern so no big premium payments.

Well, for me to go out they need a big problem and deep pockets or need to be one of my "regular" older clients and they just may get an Xmas freebie.

As far as i'm aware, where rostered work patterns include Public Holidays, then premium payments are still payable for those day's. Maybe not at the same rates as you describe at Rover, but certainly a minimum of time and a half....

I remember the one , it was posted by fuzzydunlop and he reckoned his mate was going to get 18k for three days cover !

It was a reply in a thread that I had started , to moan about getting a callout at about half ten at night on Christmas Eve which was 130 miles away back down in Bucks .
I then had one come in on Christmas morning as well !

Must admit..I advertise 24/7 and when my phone went about half an hour ago with an unknown number my heart sank. Good job it turned out to not be a call-out, I hate to disappoint people.

Anyone want my recipe for Zummerzet mulled shiider? Hic!

You must be drunk if you're offering to give away your cider recipe;)

We have a lot of regular clients so we cover emergencies over the holidays but we charge preminm rates home to home and we have the final say if it's an emergency or not. Some of our clients are in Botswana, Mozambique and Zambia so a call out is usually at least a 2 day affair.
