Non notifiable work?

Is it a legal requirement to certificate non notifiable work? Do you have to.

of course you should. MWC or EIC, except for like for like or minor repairs.

Moot point. BS7671 says you must supply the appropriate certification following inspection and testing, BS7671 is not legally binding, but the building regulations that are legally binding say you must install to BS7671.
You would be without a leg to stand on in court, if you ever got to that point, trying to explain why you did not provide a certificate.

Why wouldn't you in any case? Copies are just as important as the originals.

When the shxt hits the fan, your solicitor would want to see your copy to see if its the same as the one the client has!

If you are doing work under Part P then there is a requirement to keep copies of all certificates issued for installation work for three years. But not sure it is a legal requirement, just a standard to which you must work.

If it's a minor works, just write out two copies there and then. If EIC or EICR, photocopy and give the client the original. Very simple and not even worth discussing.
