I’ve been offered a full rewire and consumer unit change, in the guidance note it says all notifyable work should be reported to building control or done by a person who is signed upto a competent person scheme. My aim is to sign upto a scheme eventually, I’ve done a domestic installer course and I’m a commercial fire alarm engineer for the last 8 years. How do I build a portfolio of work for a NIC/Napit etc to come and assess without having building control come and check every job? Any feed back would be appreciated. Cheers

Start the job , mid way through the job book your Nic or Napit assessment.
Try to time it so that the job finishes just In time for the assessment.
you can always fudge the dates a bit (but you didn’t hear this from me)
