We installed a BG on/off dimmer switch today and as soon as we switched it on it was arcing like mad and before we turned the circuit off it had actually caught fire. Luckily there was two of us and stopped it burning the whole house down any one had this before? It looked like the circuit board had a bad connection

bad connection or bad component. your guess is as good as mine or gandolph's

Plastic bag, label as 'exhibit 1' and return for warranty claim.

Sometimes with spectacular failures I'd also insist the manufacturers give some feedback on the cause and what they're doing to ensure it doesn't happen again.

Return to manufacturer, unless you used it to control the local football clubs' floodlights :beatnik2:

I may be deriding MK products without full R&D...but went to tap a knockout on a MK double patress today, and the whole thing exploded! 7 or 8 pieces left, plus dust...been removing MEM,Bill and GE stuff that was put in during the thirties...not broke any of that...:conehead:
