I have three outlets (that I can find) that are showing open neutral. I have 80v across hot and neutral, 120v at hot to ground and 28v neutral to ground.
I also have one switch to a light that I think is on this circuit that is not working. If I pull the switch and wire it directly (white to white and black to black) my tester shows open neutral/ground on the same three plugs. When I ran an extension cord to the wires that goes to the light it will come on.
I have replaced all three outlets and still have the same issue. This is an older single wide trailer that I am trying to help a friend out. Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions on what direction to go?

You need to check the circuit feeding these loads. Find the breakers and cut it off and start opening each receptacle on that dead circuit and you will probably find a loose connection somewhere. It could be a bad connection in the panel but is doubtful. Possibly in a light fixture but try the receptacles first

I did that already. I also changed all three outlets plus the the switch that is on that circuit. Best that I can figure out is that I have a broken wire or something that is hidden that I do not know about.I also checked for continuity on the wire to the light and they were good, I also changed all the outlets with the light switch disconnected.

If you are reading that low of voltage then some where you have a loose or broken neutral.

I 100% agree with you just can’t seem to find it. At this point in time I think it is time to open walls and pull new wire.
I wouldn’t go that far. It would help if you had a tone generator which will allow you to follow the wire that you are hooked to (neutral). They are not expensive and you can buy them from Home Depot or Lowes. Do not use this on a circuit that is live.

I did think of a tone generator but I could not find one. The only one I found was for CAT cable. Good idea on that side. Will have to look for one. Any one that you like.
