Hi All, Im new to this forum with an issue to solve if anyone can help.
I have a Mitsubishi L200 with front and rear parking sensors and the front sensors have started an intermittent beeping sound while driving with nothing in range for normal activation. At times its almost continual. Each of the 4 sensors still activates and sounds the beep when my hand is put in front of it to suggest the sensors themselves are OK.
I have a number of questions as I guess all parking systems work in the same principle.
Does a false beep suggest a broken wire / open circuit or a short circuit across the pair of wires to any sensor? or back to the control?
Having found a connector to slip the sensors from the control / buzzer what conditions should I find testing towards the sensor.
Given the fault appears intermittent I suspect an open circuit or short circuit somewhere but tracking it down is going to be my problem.
Thanks for any advice.
Glynn.

Hi Gavin, Ah ! forgot that button even existed and yes it kills the noise but as the pick up is going for sale soon I want to find and solve the fault. I have now found the control box and buzzer up behind the passenger glove box so can at lease continuity test all the wiring.
