as i already have 2330 level 2 ive rang a few centre about getting my part p and been told i can come and do a one day course with exam in the afternoon.Anyone else done this? if so what should i be reading up on etc.?

If you have completed the 2330 level 2 and plan to continue with your training for 2330 level 3 then don't bother and save your money!

You are training to become a fully qualified electrician. Part P isn't a qualification it is part of the Building Regulations for electrical safety.

The Part P course is designed for people to train to be competent in area of the work that they do involving electrical installations and who are not electricians. For example kitchen fitters who need to learn how to be competent to safely isolate the supply before removing sockets in the kitchen.

A qualified electrician is more than competent to work to Part P of the Building Regulations. They just have to become a member of a government approved scheme such as Napit, NICEIC, Elecsa etc to self certify their work or alternatively notify the LABC directly before begining the work in a domestic property.

Hope this helps!
