Hi Guys & Gals,

Was reading an advert on a job website for an "Electrical surveyer". The job details were to go to customers homes and do an initial safety inspection and explain legislation which is fine but it then says "to offer a part p electrical inspection". Now when I did my 2391, I dont remember anything about a part p electrical inspection. So what is it? Have I missed sumet, or have the people who advertised the job got it wrong? Any thoughts would be great.

Sounds like a way to re-word Domestic PIR to try and sway people to accept the offer
I would of thought offering the new EICR on BS7671 amendment 1 would be more up to date

It doesn't exist unless the job is to carry out PIRs on non-notified works for the purpose of regularisation by the Local Authority.

I suppose you could refer to it as a Part P inspection, even though it is actually just a PIR.

As Lenny said I think this sounds like a visual report which is what I do for a local authority. I basically go around various properties ie social housing, schools, sports centers etc and comment on the existing install and recommend improvements with budget costs etc.
Hope this helps?
Darren.

Cheers Lads,

Thought I was missing something. Probably like you all said, a PIR, but the company advertising the job dont know what there on about, or the jobs website company did the description wrong, either way Im glad Im not going mad.
