Periodic code

What periodic code should be put down for circuits in a domestic house not on a rcd i.e. immersion, lights on old split load boards.
Any help much appreciated

Here is a link to the Electrical Safety Councils site. On here you will find some best practice guides. Best Practice Guide 4 at the bottom of the page has some guidance on PIR codes for you to download.

Its what NAPIT recommend their members to follow.

There are some interesting recommendations in this guide, for example a 'code 4' should be issued for:

'circuit protective conductors of final circuit protective conductors in a consumer unit not arranged or marked so they can be indentified for inspection, testing or alteration of the installation'

I think a 'code 4' probably applies to most installations in the UK.....lol
