We don`t have ANY bad installs but are starting a shadow company called Renewable-Rescue as so many people have appalling installations , with cheap POLY Chinese rubbish that we think there is a massive market over the next few years to put these right. Especially when the train jumpers sod off back to selling conservatorys, mobile phones and skateboards.

I love my double glazing and the salesman gave me a good discount. I dont think there are many bad installs out there.

Does this count?

I got two down our way which have been installed directly behind the chimney and get permanent shading on 2 or 3 panels all day! what I couldn't understand was one house had 6e 6w where it could have just had 12 on the east roof with zero shading. I keep on meaning to knock on the door and ask who did it......... I am sure it is sometimes down to customer preference but I feel sorry if these guys were poorly advised.

lol roof monkey had a bad attack of vertigo that day , still if there is a hurricaine in downtown brentwood next weekend he's going to look pretty smug !

This has to be the dodgiest install I've ever seen. I don't even think MCS Renewables could sort this out unless they went up there with a JCB and knocked the house next door down.

I honestly think some people think you get the FIT just from having panels on the house.Do these people not read,i think when we had ours i did that much reading i knew more than the fitters who wanted to put a spare panel on my kitchen roof facing west with allot of shadow no way .

I got told some amazing stories by salesmen who were barely qualified to sell double glazing, never mind something as technical as PV solar. I spent a fair bit of time on my own research to become a smart customer but there must be a large percentage who just saw the pound signs after falling for the salesman's patter and couldn't be bothered with the small print. After all, if a nice man in a sharp suit said it then it must be true.

Not sure REAL actually added much value when a slimey company was involved - they just got their membership and then used that as veneer to hide behind.

Yep and some customers are nuts if you dont do it the next man will...never thought of putting panels on a side wall. I must open my eyes this has set new frontiers. Must go through my unfeasible list and see if I can breath new life into any of them.

It's evident from the posts of some installers on here that some customers are sold on just squeezing more panels on the roof. The idea you could actually produce less from more panels because the whole system gets dragged down seems widely overlooked, including by the salesmen!
