My uncle wants his property tested as theres a new tennant going to be moving in and just by looking at it i can see its only his sockets that have rcd protection, shower etc don't. What code does this go down as on test sheet and do they have to be changed so that all circuits are rcd protected. I know they obviously need to be on new builds etc just not sure how it works relating to older builds that were up to the regs at the time. :)

Do your PIR. Make sure all circuits meet required disconnection times ( Zs Readings ) . I would code 3 or 4 it, personally, but see what others on here say

As long as disconnection times are met, then you can leave as it is and give it a code 4 "recommendation".
But make sure everything else is safe and installed correctly as you check the installation.
Best regards,
Sav

agree with sav but if it's a TT earthing arrangement, I would like to see RCD on everything

Cheers for replies. I'll see what the test results show up! Also came across a shower and sockets that was on a 100ma main rcd the other day. Wasn't a tt system either, should this be changed or is it also ok as long as it meets disconnection times also? The testing I've managed to get to grips with no bother, it's the paperwork! Dare say I'll get used to it the more I do though!
