Hey Forum,

So today my rcd fuse tripped unplugged everything turn it back on plugged a lamp in works fine every thing else triped it,

Took another look at the fuse seen the test button pressed it nothing happens (the fuse was on btw)

Sat had a long think about every thing I done to day
Suddenly remember putting three pictures up need light switch looked and I had put a panel pin some way in to the power cable (the lights are on another rcd fuse btw)

Ps there's a leak in my roof I was wondering if the waters got in to the connectors in the loft

Main question how much would this Cost to be put right if it was just the rcd

Thanks in advance

Hard to say mate, if the pin has punctured the cable, then it will need replacing, the job will need to be looked at

The RCD is unlikely to be faulty it is just indicating that fault elsewhere.

If your lights are not on this RCD then they are unlikely to cause it to trip and so there is another fault present.
The damaged cable needs to repaired for safety.

Price wise one cannot really say unless seeing the job, a cable repair should not be too bad, an hour perhaps.
Finding the other fault may take longer or may be obvious.
