Hi, I’m looking to install two floodlights to light a farm yard, that doesn’t have a supply of electricity. So I was wondering if they could be powered with a small generator or a large power pack.

Welcome to the forum mate.
A small gen for a couple of light is a bit expensive, unless they already have one.
What size lights are you looking at?
How long do they want the light on for?
Are they PIR or permanently on during the night?
Do they want to control the light with a switch?

I haven't used them myself but I'm aware there are some very good solar+battery self charging options available now.

Some years ago I wired up a small isolated yard to trigger a generator start up from 12v PIR's, to bring on several halogen floods.
Worked very well.
