i am doing am installation for a local authority, new staircase light for sheltered housing, jobs ok new cable trunking fittings and switches, but the db is origonal and is an old wylex board with push button breakers but the main switch is an elcb and has no bs number on it.
the jobs tests ok with megohm and zs and ze ok but on the cert. what do you do about a non bs breaker. told clerk of the works and he said he would "look into it".
anybody had anything similar and what did you do about it.

What type of ELCB is it voltage or current operated. if it is the first type I would change it

Hi.
Yes change it.There is no effective way of testing these plus the NICEIC regard this as a code 1 if doing a Periodic Inspection.Thats the Voltage type not sure about the Current operated type.
Change the push button m.c.b. as well. I have an idea these are the ones where you can't find them on the max impedance tables therefore nothing to work to.
