Hi, I have been asked to price a job up, I have been to have a look at a new build, it is a 3 bed detached with the loft converted into a study and also a garage which is separate which requires power for socket and light in, the garage is about 10m from house, there is 2 showers in house and spot lights in about 4 of the rooms and pendants in the rest, there is 2 outside security lights to, what kind of price do you feel is reasonable for the customer and also me, first and second fix, it is being dot and dabbed so very minimal chopping out

price up materials and add 2weeks labour +10/15% should be around £3300 doesnt matter about any chopping out he will have a sum in for all jobs to tally up with his project costs.

Do you feel this should be a lower price due to it being a new build rather then a rewire? And also pricing on the whole job

think your missing the point, its the same work as a rewire and more materials
how much would you charge for same work if it was a rewire

I know what your saying I'm just thinking on a rewire your chopping in and possibly ripping out existing wire etc, what price would you say is fair for the house?

we do alot of newbuild i would price that 3bed as £3300 if not more get a price on your materials you will be surprised of the amount that would come to at least £1300.
also you will spend atleast 2 weeks there and more visits messing about

Do you feel around the 3k mark is about right for this house??

3k sounds cheap to me. You will have to make several visits, so factor in time and fuel along with messing the day up. The outbuilding alone will be a few hundred once you get a CU into it with an SWA supply.
Also, find out what quality of materials the owner wants. Will be more if they require Crabtree/MK gear.

I SEE, your concious of putting in a fair price and at the same time wanting the work. i can assure you you will be out of pocket if you dont go in around the 3300. you could price garage seperate
also do you want to be a busy fool
