I had a 4kw system fitted nearly 2 years ago with a Solic 200 to divert excess energy produced to emmersion heater in hot water tank and all was working great until a week or so ago.
First of all PV solar all working OK, and every morning when inverter starts for first time Solic kicks in and does its job diverting excess to immersion.
The problem is that once water in tank has reached set temp, 70c i believe it is set to, as should be power to immersion is shut off, but if you run hot water off to say fill the bath, it does not kick back in to reheat water even though Solic is showing that there is excess energy available ie 3 green lights. The only way to get it back on is to reset inverter then all work perfectly as before until 70c has been reached again then same problem.
I have replaced thermostat in water tank but no change.
Does anyone know if my problem is with inverter or Solic.
Thanks in advance.

Sorry for dragging up an old thread, but did you get anywhere with this? MY guess would be the Solic, and the makers would be the first port of call. I am interested to hear what their c/s is like.

Yes got it sorted. I emailed solic and after a couple emails sent they said to return unit for replacement as never heard of this problem with unit, but I had also contacted the installer who also said they would replace then get back on to solic, told them i already had contacted them, so both companys were really good c/s.

Glad to hear you got it sorted. I ended up with an ImmerSun. The whole set-up looked a bit more 'professional'. Does essentially the same thing, except it has secondary outputs for when the first load (immersion) reaches target temp. It seems to do the job well too :)
