Hi all,

In our DNO notification form it asks for confirmation that, for the inverter:

"Protection settings have been set to comply with Engineering Recommendation G83/1."

&

"The protection settings are protected from alteration.(except by prior written agreement between the DNO and the Customer or his agent)"

I've been all over G83 and the Inverter's installation manual etc - I guess the fact that the inverter is G83 certified (it's a SunnyBoy 1200) means I can say Yes to the above questions? Not sure I can "Protect the settings from alteration" though?

Thanks chaps

Ahh, I see on the Inverter's G83 certificate that the protection settings can not be changed without a tool or a password.

And the numbers on the cert show they all comply with g83 there.

Case closed. Hm, can I thanks myself?! lol

The DNO are asking you to confirm that, for an inverter with programmable settings, that they have been set in accordance with G83 for that particular inverter.

You should know how to check that they are correct - they might easily not be (e.g. it is possible that they could be set for German standards).

The numbers on the manufacturer's certificate simply show that, for the type test, that when the parameters are set in accordance with G83 requirements, the inverter does actually perform within the specification.
