Ok im on a contract installing kitchens and I was told by a collegue that its fine to put PVC trunking behind the cooker but I have reservations if this against any regs??thought id quickly ask here 1st.

All switches are 300mm away but ive looked throught the 17th edition and nothing says that you cant.Dont see y not?

The trunking or the above cooker switches? The switches are either in the OSG or the electricians guide to the building regs, I'm fairly certain they are in 17th ed somewhere too, but could be in approved doc P.

as long as there is room behind the cooker. no reason why not. it ain't going to melt.

I have a property to do some work on and noticed that the kitchen has a free standing gas oven and directly to the right of it in the wall is the original feed.It has a single 13 amp socket the 2 cables both 2.5mm clipped direct to the wall painted in a nice yellow colour run down the wall and one feeds a double socket ,skirting board level and the other feeds a modified double socket with some big plastic box with now has 4 13 amp plugs in it !.It is the only original power point in the kitchen.
I intend to pick the cable out of the wall and then lower down ,away from gas hob height sink a couple of boxes in the wall so i can put 2 Fused spurs and then connect to the original feeds for the other sockets.
Sound alright so far ?
All the cables are just clipped direct to wall not in any trunking or anything,i guess they should be in trunking ? prefer not as kitchen is a right bloody mess,.Mind you its all work.
