Hi all. I'm new to the site.

Im just after a little advice. I have just completed a qcf level 3 qualification in basic electronics. I work within the hydraulic/ electrical field.
I'm now trying to get my boss to send me on a higher grade course like the 17th edition.

I have noticed there's a lot of difference in grading ie city and guilds/ diplomas.
Now I'm confused!! LOl
would I be better to go for the city and guilds or try and milk a bit more from him and go for a diploma?

think a lot more info on which way you want your career to go would help.

I want to use it to further my career within my current job. At the moment no one is really qualified for electrics. I also have ideas on using as a side line and maybe even a career change in years to come.

then you need 2330 level 3,or what it's changed to now, then 2382 (17th, or may be 18th by then), NVQ, 2394, 2395.

17th will do you no good on it's own.
It's like learning the Highway Code and expecting to be able to drive.

As with the Highway code it's a set of rules and regulations to follow, you need the other courses as above first.
