What readings would expect for the wandering lead method whilst testing from the consumer unit to the sockets, would you expect in the region of less than 0.10 ohm?

yea its a ring final but the conduit is the CPC and once ive deducted the resistance of the "wandering lead" im getting less than 0.10 ohm for the resistance of the conduit, does that sound right?

so from yesterday, we can deduce that the fault is on the live or R1 part of the circuit giving you greater than 200 ohms overall.

yea when i moved onto the Ringmain im getting less than 0.10ohm for the R2 reading on the ringmain circuit does that seem to be right ?yea

you didn't mention yesterday it was a ring final. Have you taken all the socket fronts off?

im on a different circuit than yesterday and all im wanting to do is get my R2 reading for the ringmain and im getting less than 0.10ohm for the ringmain does that sound right? its a 1 storey 1 bedroom house really small.

i'l chance it and say yeah, sounds about right. You're spending some time testing this house!

yea thats what i was thinking ye, you always expect really low readings like that yea, with a small house and when testing for the R2 reading yea??? nahh ive been busy with other jobs and that this last two days, only got a wee while here and there at it like.

yea, well let me take a pull of this here spliff while i think, nahh, bad weed, poor joint somewhere.

Low readings on a conduit system R2 reading is what you want and the reading you got was fine. remember its a big lump of metal and a high reading would indicate bad joints!! and a bad joint really aint what you want.. Telextrix pass round what ever that is :)
