Creda Starlight replaced 7" radiant ring with 5 turn version which trips at RCD. Tried with 2 new rings , same result.
Replaced with 7" radiant ring with 4 turn version which works perfectly.
What is explanation for this .

Could be damp inside the new element.

If you have an insulation tester, check the element.
To fix it, cook in the oven for 3 hours at 160 degrees.

It will drive out the moisture.

Thanks for reply. Have tested on hob and seems to indicate earth leak just with 5 turn ring, 4 ring on same connector does not trip.

Tried that, still trips !
Are 5 turn and 4 turn interchangeable ?

Rcd will only trip if there is a leakage to earth.
what is the insulation resistance of the element? if you dont have equipment to measure it then i am afraid that calling in a professional is your only option.
