Hi there
Local church
TT system,
CU with RCD as protection as main switch.
Had a problem with the dishwasher tripping the RCD when running a intensive program, but that is a other issue.
the main issue is when the RCD has tripped, you cannot reset it.
There usually is no power on the circuits, as the church has been empty when the RCD tripped, maybe fridge, dishwasher, boiler etc, no lights or PA system etc.
I have traced the fault back to the two computer suites they have, one in an office, one in the main hall, both on seperate circuits.
I understand that this may be a high integrity problem and earth leakage in both these systems.
What I dont understand is why just turning off the MCB's those two circuits does not allow me to reset the RCD, but turning off all the MCB's does let me reset the RCD.
I have disconected the computer equipment from the circuits and am able to reset the RCD with all MCB's on so it's nothing else causing it.
any ideas or answers as to why this happens.
