Hi,

got a 3 phase transformer on a construction site (office refurb) fed by 6mm swa, form an old 3 phase d/b.

Should the swa to the transformer be rcd protected or not, the regs are not really clear on this?

The cable is tied up and taped with caution markings.

Thanks
Craig

When I worked on temp sites everything was RCD protected as even marked ,tied out the way, brought up on inductions this cable WILL get damaged

Im assuming the tranny is a big multipul outlet type I know its "Bad practice " ect ect but I always put an earth strap round armours ( bonded to frying pan ) at transformers as transformers get moved ,bashed, ect on sites and no matter what you do the gland may come undone leading to core damage at entry Also to assist this dont strip the inner covering back to the gland but leave it well inside
