Discuss Rcd testing in the Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net
hi guys just looking for some advice.
Trying to test an a type 100a rcd type a with a megger 1552 and testing on ac the tests pass but on switching to dc on x5 tests it is saying it is over 40ms. Am I missing something? Or would it be a raulty rcd?
I can't actually find confirmation either way which type RCD the 1552 can test - seems to be conflicting advice out there. Type A RCDs need to be tested with pulsating DC - but no idea if that is what the 1552 produces.Edit: I don't think the Megger 1552 can test Type A RCDs? (the DC option is for a different type).
I had to upgrade to a 1700 series to get the option to test Type A.
Is it Hager? If so some of them needed to be tested at 250mA I believe, though i think they may have now come back in line with others to avoid confusion.
