Just been to a job were i have recently fitted a wireless alarm. He wants 2x new sockets and 2 x outside lights. Easy job to be fair.. Now the house has just been decorated which is when i point out where i will be chasing in order to conceal cables..

His reply is.. Chaseing.. Why would you need to do that.. Becuase i need to get a cable from A - B.. Arr no i want ones like the alarm you fitted. Wireless ones...

Oh god.. Needless to say i didnt get the jon.. :-(

ytou should have said that the wireless technology has only got up to 12V. it might be up to 240V in 2023.

It wont be long before they will make the technology in order to do it.. Trouble is in 300 years they will have technology that does everything...

so we''ll all be redundant. can't wait. live to 365 then retire.

You been speaking to the same customers as I have and everyone else on this forum. You got to be careful as they will want you to do it for free next may even want you to even possibly contribute towards costs for the privalge of doing their work. You lucky spark. Taking a wild stab here but bet you they are loaded intelligent people with no Common sense. Help me out here.

Think you have missed an opportunity here :)

Wireless lights - no problem, battery operated LED lights are readily available
Wireless Power points - no problemo - Double socket wired into a small genny and hosepipe used for exhaust gasses through letterbox

Jobs a gud un

Wonder who actually gets the 'job' and what sort of monstrosity they turn the newly decorated gaff into.

Slightly off script, anyone seen / installed them 'power ethenet sockets' ... they combine power and networking in the same double socket, apparantly. I noticed in the description of them it just says 'No specialist data networking skills required - just wire it like a normal socket" Has anyone had the joys of installing these, and if so, any good? Bye Bye segregation ?

Saw it in this months addition of ECA today.
