Was doing a plastering job (sorry! need all the cash I can get!) today and had been asked to add a socket to the newly plastered wall.
As an electrically minded person, I looked at the CU, saw that it was an old 15th Ed board and said I couldn't do the work without protecting the new socket with an RCD.
However, if I was a DIYer, I wouldn't know that, and seeing as spurring off an existing circuit is not notifiable work, I'd get on with it...
Have I missed something here or is this just plain stupid?
