Hi all,

We have recently received a number of complaints about the attitudes exhibited by some members when responding to queries from people who may not be as knowledgeable as them.

The forum has a 'be nice' policy that applies equally to all members, including those asking questions which relate to DIY. Clearly if they are wanting a step-by-step guide on how to do something, this is not allowed under the forum rules (if you feel a thread is heading in that direction, report it and let the staff deal with it), but if they are just asking simple questions then please answer them in a courteous manner and if you can't do that, ignore the thread.

Anyone breaching the forums rules on a persistent basis may be subject to a temporary ban and if that doesn't get the message across you may be permanently banned.

And a reminder for those that want to stand up for the little guy... don't get involved, simply report the post and let the staff deal with it, that is after all what we are here to do.

If you'd like to refresh yourself on what the rules actually say, here is a link to them:- Electricians Forum Rules - https://www.electriciansforums.co.uk/forums/electricians-forum-rules.2/

Thanks

The Staff
