Relocated dryer vent. Old work 4 prong dryer outlet no longer attached to drywall.
So I think I need to rewire dryer outlet to new work 4 prong receptacle.
Any suggestions as to the location?

I thought to attach a horizontal 2x4 under window and another horizontal 2x4 under the dryer vent.
Then nail a vertical 2x4 between those two horizontal 2x4's.
Then I would nail the new work 4 prong dryer outlet box on the left side of the new vertical 2x4.
I know I need to stable both wire 6 inches from the boxes.
Is my plan ok?
Any other pointers?
Thanks
Kit

It appears there are to many cables and not nearly enough stapling to make that more neater. The box for the dryer has to be 4 wire and the plug has to be higher than the dryer

Ok thanks for the feedback.
I will try adding the framing and add insulated staples every four inches or so to see if takes up the wire slack.
Fyi its a stacked dryer on top of washer.

Then install the dryer outlet and washing machine outlet beside the appliances. New code change you shouldn’t have to pull something out to disconnect it

Thanks for information.
The unit is in a tight closet type area.
Will see if i can punch through sidewall for outlets.

Can you suggest what to look for in a multi meter to test the four prong plug?

Yes you can go to Home Depot or Lowe’s and buy you a inexpensive meter that you can measure voltage with which is all you would need a meter. Good luck
