Hi Lads.

Anyone know of a ready made solution to this little problem.

Converted barn which is a Showroom, Cannot install any wiring to switch locally.
Need to Switch 1x 150W M/H and 2x150W via a remote control, Ideally. Supply for them isn't a problem, just the switching.
Seen those Byrom Plug in 1000W R/C units, not sure how long they might last switching these loads.
Any help greatly appreciated.

plug in remote socket adaptors will swiych up to 3kW. set of 3 is about £20.

not 100% sure if they will handle start up currents for metal halides, but would think so. try a couple and see.

ask the supplier if they think they'll handle it.

I use the remote control sockets at home only fault is if you lose power they need recoding to unit, only a 2 minute job but something you need to be aware of as to recode you have to power down the socket then power up and while the red light is flashing press a number eg 1 on controller then repeat with each socket onto a different number.

Spoke to Byrons tech desk, said they would be fine, but the receives shouldn't be placed next to each other (like in a double socket) as they ,may interfere with each other

don't have this problem with the ones i've got at home. after power loss they just come back on as normal. must be just certain types.

MK do a wireless switch...you wire the receiver into the supply to the lights and fit the remote switch where ever, it needs no supply and uses no batteries, it looks like a normal switch too. Price around £70 IIRC.

Sure it was MK....

EDIT:

It is MK search for MK echo range.
