Hoping to get some advice as i like to understand what work will be carried out and what actually needs doing etc.

Looking at replacing the hob & oven as they are on their way out and in my research I've found out the following.

Oven & hob are both connected to an isolating switch just above the counter. This is then connected to a 32 amp fuse on the PCB.

This are the power requirements for the old oven and hob.

Old Hob
230v
6000w
6KW

Old Oven
230v
2600w
2.6kw

1. Is this safe and acceptable in the first instance? The new oven & hob are slightly less at a total of 8.3kw together?

2. If this isn't safe i guess the best option would be to get an electrician to spur off one of the plugs in the kitchen, add a socket and plug the oven into this and have the hob on it own on the 32 amp fuse?

Hi - As per George, what's been done historically should've been fine. Important now is what you want to put in their place :) .
